Dear Fletcher Memorial Murals Donor,

We are extremely disappointed that we have to inform you of PPS Superintendent Guadalupe Guerrero’s decision to remove the Fletcher Memorial Murals from Grant High School. The removal will begin in March 2021. Six people from the Cultural Heritage Group will remove the murals over 40 days. None of the money raised by the Grant High School Alumni Association for the restoration of the murals will be used for the removal.


Since we will be unable to restore the murals, you may ask for the return of your donation or consider allowing the Alumni Association to keep all or part of your contribution for Dues, Scholarship Fund, Music Education Fund, or the General Fund. The matching fund contribution from the Leo Lester Browne Charitable Fund stipulated that if excess funds were remaining after the murals were restored that excess funds must be used to enhance the music program at Grant High School. In keeping with the spirit of the Fund, you may also designate that your contribution is used for that purpose. The Leo Lester Browne Charitable Fund contribution of $100,000 will be returned.

Please use the form below. You may split amounts between the options. Show the dollar amount of your choices up to the amount of your contribution to the mural restoration fund. If you are requesting a refund, you must include your current mailing address. Please submit your choices by March 1, 2021.

    ALLOCATION OF DONATION TO THE FLETCHER MEMORIAL MURAL FUND

    Annual Individual Dues - $20/year Annual Couple Dues - $30/year (when both are Grant alums) Lifetime Memberships - $250
    Scholarships are awarded annually to one or more students selected by the Alumni Association and school officials.
    The Leo Lester Browne Charitable Fund wanted any excess funds left over after the murals were restored to go to music education. This fund is being set up to keep with the spirit of Leo Lester Browne.
    The General Fund is used my the Alumni Association for administrative costs, annual meeting/picnic and other alumni related endeavors.
    You must show your current mailing address if you are requesting a refund of your contribution.
